Day 15 - Perranporth to Holywell Bay - 20 May 19

This was a short walk, as we arrived at Holywell Bay way too early to book into the Holiday park we booked for 4 days.
I looked at this as a training walk for the next few days.

We parked in the National Trust Car park, so we could use our membership to park free.
But the buses were every two hours for going north of our location but did not run to go south to Perranporth.
Linda and I believed we could justify a Taxi, the nice attendant phoned the local cab company who was with us within 10 mins.
Unfortunately, we felt ripped off as a 10 min ride cost £20. We did intend to use a few cabs on this trip but at that price, we decided we would find alternate methods.

Perranporth looked nice and Linda enjoyed her cream tea.

Strangely, this photo caused quite a debate on Linda's Facebook as to which way to have the Jam and cream on a scone. Personally, I don't care....lol.

Linda's mandated selfie!

As we left Perranporth there was a lot of what on first glance looked like the beginning of a construction site. (See pictures below)

After a strange coincidence, I received an email from Madness stating they are now going to be playing at "Tunes in the Dunes" at Perranporth. This was the beginning of the preparation.
We looked to see if it was whilst we were in Cornwall but alas it was not.
Also playing were:
BANANARAMA
GABRIELLE
FISHERMAN’S FRIENDS
CIRCA WAVES
JOHN NEWMAN
PLAIN WHITE TS
MORCHEEBA

I am sure it would be great, but our mission was to complete more of the Coastal Paths, so we moved on.
Only after about 10 mins of leaving Perranporth, I was climbing steps and spotted an adder, I managed to get Linda's attention and she caught a glimpse, but neither of us was quick enough with the camera to capture it. It was not as large as the one we spotted near Sennen Cove, which we got photos of in a previous blog.

We then stumbled upon an oasis, which was quite relaxing. (with Frog Spawn).

As the day became glorious in its weather, Linda and I do find the walks harder.
A short walk was still a hard walk. (to me more than Linda of course).
Some lovely views below. (not of me, I am tired and dreaming of the pint at the finish).

Eventually, we finished and my reward was refreshing.

My feet were sore at the end of the day and my boots were causing bruising above the ankles after day one! I was worried this was not a good sign for the next few days. (and I was right).
Linda actually made me walk again to view the beach at Holywell.
So I made her take me to the other pub in the village first, but below is the view from Holywell Bay.
