Day 18 - Porthcothan to Newquay - 23 May 19

This was our final walk of the break and always was going to be the second longest. With tired limbs, we took off.....(I didn't moan much honestly). So we had worked out that we could park at the Car Park at Porthcothan for about £6 and walk to Newquay and catch the bus (every two hours) back. On arriving there was a sign that the car park was shutting at 1630hrs, although we expected to be back about that time, you never know, so I don't like deadlines. So we tried to turn the car around and found a car park, we could see workers in the car park then realised it was a pub car park. Linda went in and asked if we could leave the car there all day, to which they stated "yes, as long as we came in for a drink afterwards" Linda agreed that we would also eat there, so we were happy. Day 17 - Holywell Bay to Newquay - 22 May 19

This was always going to be a rest day! But I thought it was a good idea to walk the 5 miles to Newquay and Linda agreed. The walk ended up nearly 8 miles and hard. Next time I am sticking to my rest day plans. We had a slow start to the day as we knew we didn't have to drive anywhere, it was a simple leave the caravan and begin walking. So, we went slightly wrong at the start, again losing the signage to the path, so ended up walking a little extra here. As Linda looked over a ridge she stated she could see a Seal and asked me if I thought it was dead. Too which I looked and agreed it was a seal pup and it must have died. Then to our amazement, it started to move, moving towards the sea. It moved about 5 yards and stopped again. I asked Linda to film it, so we stood there ages waiting for it to move, but nothing.
